Meaning "patience" in the language of the Mamprusi people, the Sougri necklace is a fabulous new design by Ila Suleyman. The artisan-crafted necklace features a bone pendant as well as a sickle-shaped horn pendant expertly knotted within the violet leather strands of this torsade necklace. It fastens with a black recycled plastic button.
From northern Ghana, the Mamprusi people are predominantly rice and cattle farmers who use cow hide and bone to create various items including jewelry and accessories.

I get compliments on this necklace almost each time I wear it. Matches my wardrobe palette of rust, black and brown. Love that it is chunky enough to be seen without being too big. Thank you, Ila Suleyman! - Laurie, Los Angeles

This is a quality piece. Tightly woven. So unusual. I love it.

This looks great with a simple black dress--everyone at this gala event commented on it! My favorite necklace!
