Details

Ghana's Madam Adwoa and Onyame Akwan Dooso presents this traditional design kente known as Edwene asa. The phrase means "all motifs are used up" in the Akan language. Each strip of kente cloth requires considerable effort, and the looms are worked with both hands and feet. According to kente weaving traditions, each color has its own meaning: green stands for fertility and new harvest; black is signifies strength, aging and spirituality; and white represents purity. Pink is associated with social thought; grey derives its symbolism from the ashes used for healing and cleansing rituals to restore spiritual balance. Red is the color of heightened spiritual mood, sacrifice and struggle.

The Patience mask I ordered is quite lovely. Wonderful attention to detail and well-made. I am going to give it to my dad for his birthday. He is injured at the moment and could certainly use the reminder to be patient. Thank you
