Modern Surrealist Painting, "Seeds of Love II"

Ripening under the spell of midnight, a voluptuous papaya represents a woman's breasts in a metaphor for sexual desire. Symbolizing a man's hand, a falling leaf brushes the ripe fruit. "I try to explore eroticism from a new angle," artist Jay Karun explains. "I take simple, everyday elements in nature to create an erotically charged atmosphere in my paintings that reflect the raw sensual urge to procreate. Hence, viewed from a particular perspective, every element in nature can evoke sensuality."
