Mixed Media Painting of Person in Solitude, "'Solitude' (2017)"

Evans Ofori of Ghana uses a color palette of warm yellows, oranges and browns that give a look of antique brass to create an image of a person alone, inspired by his belief that "solitude is an empowering feeling that helps you figure things out on your own and love yourself." The swirling motifs and the vibrant fusion of lines and rings forming the hair and forehead reinforce that theme of working through whirling thoughts and emotions. The Ghanaian artist presents his work in a teak wood frame.
