Balinese artisan Buana pays homage to an ancient guard who protected many with his supernatural strength and courage. Kumbhakarna, the protagonist of this sterling silver necklace, is a famous giant in the Hindu doctrine, said to have been blessed with an endless sleep until the kingdom needed his powers to save the citizens. The image of the hero dangles gracefully in the form of an elegant cow bone pendant surrounded by traditional motifs of the region, making this accessory a cultural accent.

“Lovely Rainbow Moonstone and Silver Ring”

Beautiful ring, accurate size, detailed craftmanship. The glow is more subtle than I had hoped, but very lovely, like a rainbow in the clouds. As recommended, I did size up because of the wider band. The band makes the ring balanced and extremely comfortable.

Buana has received 14 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2400 and the most recent for $7000. Proceeds were used to invest in a purchase of natural gemstones and silver for his jewelry.

Caring for Children

When Buana first began to work, he was fearful that he would be unable to care for his first child. Now he proudly cares for two.
