Details

Seen in silhouette, a skull speaks, its words depicted as glyphs that flow from its mouth. Angel Cerón recreates a motif from the archeological site of Chichén Itzá in Yucatán. The image was depicted on the walls of the ball court, relating it with death and with the sacred ballgame. Chichén Itzá is a post classic Maya site with marked Toltec influence.

I ordered a statute of the Maya rain god Chaac, as he was by far my favorite deity I learned of while studying the Maya. The statue is absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend Angel Cerón's work to anyone!

Oscar

Very satisfied with my “Coatlicue”, definitely an astonishing piece. Thank you a lot Angel!
