Working in black and white, Marina Pallares creates an enigmatic aquafortis and aquatint etching. She depicts a gentleman in a suit and top hat whose head is a padlocked cage filled with birds. A key is attached to the red cord that meanders from his heart to his hands. "The key is to open the mind, to give free rein to the thoughts or to let new ideas in," the Mexican artist explains. "I was inspired by the masters of surrealism, in this case, René Magritte. However, I've tried to give this print my own discourse, based on my own perception of life."

I love it, its bigger than I thought but beautifully detailed! My only complaint is that it came without the certificate of authenticity. Love Marina Pallares work I owe a few of her pieces
