Leather Convertible Sling Bag with Handwoven Cotton Inset, "Nocturnal Brilliance"
The Cojolya Association is a group of women artisans who work together in order to afford better livelihoods. They craft this creative handbag from black leather, adding handwoven fabric in black and burnt orange, accented with metallic polyester threads. It is woven on the backstrap loom, featuring Guatemala's legendary jaspe, or ikat motifs, in which the threads are tie-dyed before placing them on the loom. The adjustable strap can be removed to transform the sling bag into a fashionable clutch. Lined in black, the bag has a zipper pocket beneath the flap for storing small items.

"Gorgeous"

I bought this and another similar one by the same artist (earth and sky) and I love them both. The fabric has heft and appears to be durable, and the woven straps are thick and strong. It is unlined but the fabric is thick enough to support wallet, change purse, eyeglass case, cosmetic bag. Very happy with purchase.
