Italian Alps Zip Fleece Cardigan, "Cortina"
Ships Fast from the U.S.
In 1956, the Italian city of Cortina hosted the Olympic Winter Games. As he helped his city prepare for the events, the owner of a small mountaineering outfitter was inspired by jacquard-patterned wool sweaters worn by the Norwegian competitors and began to produce an Italian version of the classic Norwegian ski pullover. Cut and sewn by hand in the mountainous Vento region of northern Italy, the design of this zip sweater was inspired by the 1956 Cortina games and the Norwegian style that became so popular in Italy. A blend of wool, cotton, and polyester gives it a touch of stretch, and the full zipper makes it easy to wear and layer.
