Mexico's Armando Ramirez transforms metal into a sculpture of androgynous beauty. He cuts the iron sheets into squares and rectangles in different sizes, welding them into a sculpture. "It's not meant to represent only a woman, that's why I called this sculpture 'Androgyny,'" says the Mexican artist.
Ramírez prefers not to give his sculptures a fine polished finish, therefore smudges and scratches may be present.
Armando has built his business and is now able to employ other artisans to continue expanding his craft all over the world.
Armando uses and continues to pass down traditional techniques to his children who now carry on his same methods.
Armando has received 1st place from the regional contest of the Jaliscience Institute of Crafts for his artwork.
Armando is a very dedicated father that has 2 children that he supports financially.
Armando's income helps pay for the education of his two daughters.
