Like the Chinese yin-yang symbol, Shiva and Shakti represent the balance between complementary opposites in the Tantric cosmology. Shiva is masculine while Shakti is feminine; he is passive whereas she is active. Artist Ketut Bungkling captures the essence of the inseparable entities in this unique egg sculpture, which is carefully painted by hand in a monochrome palette. It arrives on a golden wooden base.
