Handwoven Multicolored Cotton Sling from Guatemala, "Avocado Rainbow"
Providing local indigenous women with work, Guatemala's Aj Quen association presents this handy and fashionable sling. The talented artisans work on the traditional backstrap loom, hand-weaving the bag of cotton. It features a solid color in avocado with rainbow patterns at the front. The bag drapes over the shoulder on a single adjustable strap and opens with a zipper. Inside, the bag features a cotton lining.
The Aj Quen Association is one of the oldest weaving associations in Guatemala. It was founded as a non-profit development entity in 1989 through the efforts of six different artisan groups from various regions of the country. These groups came together to help preserve their cultural identity and to better market their art.

I just love this bag. I am using it for my knitting bag. I take my knitting with me when I go out n this bag allows me to carry my knitting with me and to use it as a purse as well. I can even put my water bottle in it. It is as cute as a bug in a rug as well as being very functionally appealing.
