Handmade Worry Doll Pens (Set of 3), "Quitapenas"
This delightful set of three ballpoint pens is created by the Lopez Garcia Family in Guatemala. They cover the three pens with colorful handloomed cotton fabric, topping them with little quitapenas or "worry dolls". The set arrives with three Bic refills.
According to legend, the princess Ixmucané was granted the ability to solve people's problems by the Sun God. Over time, people began to make tiny dolls (quitapenas) in remembrance of Ixmucané. They would tell the dolls their problems in the hopes that Ixmucané would solve them. The custom became very popular, and continues to this day.

"They are really cute!"
These little animals are so much cuter than the usual worry dolls. I bought some of each for Christmas presents and these little animals are cuter than the little dolls.

"Meaningful ornaments"
These were a perfect gift for my grandson s other grandmother who sadly lost her husband . He was of Maya heritage (Belize). My grandson and his grandmother always exchange angels at Christmas. His grandmother is 84 and doesn t need anything, but these warmed her heart. These will be up long past Christmas.
