West Africa's Micheal Oppong hand carves this sitting figure from local sese wood, then adds decorative rings of recycled glass beads in white and yellow. The figure serves as a fertility symbol to the Ashanti tribe, an ethnic group native to the Ashanti region of modern-day Ghana.
