Handmade Sese Wood African Wall Mask, "Dan Expression"
Designed to honor the Dan people, a Mande ethnic group from the Ivory Coast and neighboring Liberia, this fascinating wall mask is the creation of Emmanuel Austin Ankude in Ghana. The artisan uses sese wood to hand carve the mask, engraving the long face with a contented expression.

"Striking handsome statue"

Very masculine piece, beautifully finished. Its posture conveys an impression of strength, prowess and resilience, which I expect would have been the tribal intent of these sort of pieces. Will be treasured, thanks
