Details

Best friends Angela Huergo and Angela Menchaca craft this highly detailed interpretation baby Jesus in the hands of the Virgen del Carmen or Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patron saint of the Republic of Chile, sailors and many institutions worldwide. Working with cedar wood, Huergo and Menchaca carve each detail by hand, painting Carmen's green dress with a beige floral design and baby Jesus's cloak in the opposite colors, both receiving brown eyes and white and gold flowers above their heads. Standing on a wooden base, the sculpture remains upright and draws attention in any setting.
