Handcrafted Suar Wood Elephant-Motif Sculpture, "Sumatra Elephants"
A trio of baby elephants playfully race one another on Wayan Puspa's wonderful sculpture. The Balinese artisan uses a natural piece of suar wood to hand carve the trio, skillfully coaxing each elephant from the wood with a deft hand. Behind the elephants, a wavy, textured motif creates the illusion of movement, while the trio are completed with pale bentawas wood tusks.
