His is face is blue like water and he has the fearsome fangs of a jaguar. This is Tlaloc, the Aztec deity of rain, of lightning and of thunderstorms. He was one of the most powerful of the ancient deities, as he controlled the rainfall that assured a bountiful supply of fresh water. Artisans from the Angel Ceron Artisan Association create their own conception of an ancient polychrome vessel. The original piece that inspires their design can be seen in the Museo Del Templo Mayor in Mexico City.

I m fond of precolombian history and sculpture. This is one on the best representations of Tlaloc, the rain deity that I have ever seen. Praise to the artisan who made it.
