Holding an ear of maize in his hands, a Yoruba man from Ghana is realized with excellent detail, hand-carved of sese wood by Christian Kwesi Tawiah. Described as the "bread winner" of his family, the man rests in a kneeling position, his semi-nude form captured by the artisan. Tribal scars adorn his cheeks, and he rests upon a round stand with a round top above his head. This sculpture can double as a stand.
