Handcrafted Natural White Natural Fiber Nativity Scene, "Nativity Love"
Costa Rican artisan Blanca Padilla designs and handcrafts this nativity scene out of fiber extracted from cabuya, a succulent that looks similar to agave. The cabuya fiber is a beautiful creamy antique white, and the artisan works with its natural texture to from the figures of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus and the modest red-roofed shelter.
The art and skill of creating handicrafts from cabuya has been handed down through Blanca Padilla's family for generations. The artisan sources her material herself, growing and harvesting the cabuya, extracting the fiber, and preparing it for use in the handicrafts. Blanca Padilla hopes to help revitalize the cabuya craft industry with the success of her designs.

"Even more beautiful than it appears on this page!"
I have a small collection of Fair Trade Nativities from around the world and saw this one and wanted to add it to my collection. It is even more BEAUTIFUL in than the photograph can possibly portray. I was simply astounded by the simple elegance of this nativity. The craftsmanship is superb. I wish that I could give this six stars as it surpass the expectations I had when I ordered it. "HEAVENLY AND DIVINE"
The Angels with Bouquets are made with such care and intricacy! Its literally mindboggling how detailed each Angel is. The work that has gone into each one is apparent. The creativity and quality is out of this world! They are absolutely HEAVENLY AND DIVINE! An afternote...I sent the Angels to my Goddaughters for Christmas and ALL of them were so impressed and taken by the workmanship and artistry!
