The long shallow shape makes it perfect for serving appetizers or fruit. The Costa Rican artisans recommend occasionally polishing the wood with any edible oil to maintain a soft sheen.

"Attractive but its not one solid piece of wood"
So, this came beautifully wrapped and is pretty. I will use it for cutting fruits to catch the juices. Great idea. I appreciate the handmade nature of it as well. However, I couldnt help but notice that it is actually three separate pieces of wood glued together. So, Im not sure how long it will last.
