A ray of white light centers this radiant tapestry by Efrain Curi. Gradually shading toward azure and navy, it is meticulously created on the Andean handloom. Curi uses the kilim, or "slit" technique. The different yarns are not dovetailed or interlocked, but each color field is woven independently of the other and their vertical edges are open. This technique is widely seen on medieval and Renaissance tapestries.
Titled "Rompecabeza azul" in Spanish.
"Fantastic quality, texture and color!"
The morning light shines on this wall hanging and makes the range of blues just pop out. The weave is very tight and the design is consistent throughout- no warp at all. We get many compliments on this stunning piece of art.
