Janeth Quintanilla creates this fascinating bracelet, decorated with nickel charms. Hindu icons such as Ganesha and the om mantra mingle with symbols of good fortune like a horseshoe and four-leaf clover. Iridescent beads accentuate the bracelet, which is crafted by hand of blue nylon threads. An oval medallion depicts the Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos.
Venerated since 1521, this beloved Virgin can be seen in the Mexican town of the same name. A monk gave the parish an image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The statuette deteriorated over the years, and was retired. But legend says that if she is removed from the sacristy, the very next day she will appear again on the main altar, as she did long ago. The image was expertly restored by a mysterious unknown artist whom many believe to be an angel.
