Salihu Ibrahim crafts a striking mask intended to protect and fight evil where it hangs. He calls the mask Toura, which in the language of Ghana's Hausa people means "Strong." Ibrahim crafts the mask by hand with sese wood featuring a jute hair and beard, as well as a headdress trimmed with raffia. Red cotton threads trim the aluminum mask over the large, expressive eyes.

"The hair on the other hand is full and beautiful"
It was beautiful but I was hoping the beard would be fuller like in the picture- it is very skimpy The hair on the other hand is full and beautiful

"This is one of the favorite items I own."
This mask is an eye catcher. My daughter-in-law is an Art major and noticed this beautiful mask immediately upon entering my home. I have it hanging in the living room. He is our protector. He is surrounded by interesting objects from Hawaii and the Philippines. Thank you so much for adding to the mystique of my surroundings.

"Wonderful mask"
I was very excited to receive this mask. It makes a great impression against the white wall where I wanted to place it. I love the geometric design and quirkiness of the face which evokes laughter and good humor for me.

"Powerful and a little Cute"
Photos do this no justice. The antlers (or perhaps horns) stand in contrast to the simple, but elegant, face. its one of those designs that makes you think, why couldnt I have thought of this, while in your heart you know you couldnt have done so. This is my 16th mask.
