Combining unevenly spaced neutral lines superposed by an understated geometrical pattern in midnight, mahogany and parchment, Petrona Perez and the Women Artisans Association create this elegant tote customary of their native Chiapas, Mexico. The artisans construct the one-piece shoulder bag from 100% cotton using waist looming to produce the body, a technique passed down through generations, integrating the strap by braiding the remaining length of each thread. The interior is composed of a single large compartment, with one opening through the top.
