Hand Stitched Cotton Block Print Quilted Euro Shams (Pair), "Bombay Toile"
Designed by Shashi Sehgal, these lovely pillow shams tell a story of ancient life in India. Herders guided their flocks to graze in lush grasslands bordering the Thar Desert. For coverlets, the women created quilts of layered fabric, stitched by hand in a technique known as gudri-making or hand quilting. These quilted pillow shams are created in the same way of cotton voile.
The motifs are created with block prints, applied by hand in blue on ivory. Neat rows of flowers represent the unbroken lineage of tradition handed down over generations. Finished with piping, the edges are scalloped and the stitching is done by hand.
A zipper at the bottom of the shams opens them to insert the cushions.

"The picture doesnt do it justice!"
Im beyond thrilled with this beautiful white bolero jacket for several reasons: ? The zari embroidery trim is so lovely and elegant! You really cant tell just how beautiful it is from the photo. I think its just the right touch -- eye-catching but not overdone. (I love to do hand embroidery myself and Im familiar with several other kinds of beautiful Indian embroidery, but I had to look up what zari embroidery is -- and its gorgeous!) ? Its 100% cotton, which I appreciate SO much because where I live, its hot for much of the year. Its perfect for covering my upper arms when I wear short-sleeved or sleeveless garments. ? Like ALL of the many things I have purchased from NOVICA, it is very well-made. Another winner! ????

"Very special dress"
I was not sure, this dress was such a wonderful surprise. The fir is perfect and the embroidery was very elegant. I washed it in cold and ironed it. Now I can wait for summer to show it off.

"Love it!"
I love it, but I haven t decided how to launder it. Definitely hand wash in cold water. I m uncertain how it would do on low heat drying for a brief time. There s no washing instruction tag on this item (which it should have).
