Details

Shades of ruby, honey, and champagne come together on this hand-stamped silk batik shawl. Javanese tradition says that the parang pattern, or "knife, dagger, and blade," was once the exclusive property of the courts of Surakarta and Jogyakarta. Today, the parang motif is ubiquitous throughout Bali and Java, and it appears on this gorgeous shawl designed by Yuni Kristina. She has been creating batik textiles for 23 years and works alongside her husband, Rickey.
