“We believe our art can enrich the lives of book lovers and writers, as well as impacting the way our culture is perceived and diffused.”
“The artisan tradition runs through our veins. We learned our craft and love of making notebooks from our father, who started the family business in 1981.
“Our father began to learn the craft at around 15 years old to support his family. He began as an assistant, learning step-by-step until he learned the techniques. When he turned 18, he already had a successful business.
“We learned throughout our lives in our hometown of Mexico City, observing our father work. While we were always proud of his work, we didn’t imagine that we’d follow in his footsteps.
“We had a period of great change in our lives, wishing to reinvent ourselves by developing ourselves creatively. It led us to rethink about continuing our father’s project.
“Now, after 30 years of our father starting this venture, we still seek to grow and keep creating better products. We are more than five families creating notebooks and each one has their own clients and projects.
We believe our art can enrich the lives of book lovers and writers, as well as impacting the way our culture is perceived and diffused. Through our craft, we want people to learn about Mexican culture through traditional designs. We use different materials to create our products, such as cloth, cardboard, paper and oil paints for our notebooks. All of the notebooks are painted by hand.
We think we can have a positive impact on society. We are concerned about the environment and use recycled paper in our notebooks. We have bigger plans for the future: we plan to give classes on making notebooks to teach and help whoever wants to learn and contribute to displaying the best of our culture.
The motor of our work is creativity and reinventing ourselves everyday. Our work stands apart in quality and represents our individual freedom in defining our strength and daring in accomplishing challenges. We aspire to make a name for ourselves in artisan notebooks and reach many parts of the world with our products. We are immensely grateful with our work because it allows us to dream everyday. One dreams about being promoted in an office and can also earn it, but it’s not like dreaming from the stage you want and imagine where anything is possible.”
