About this Item
By Aida Martinez, this colorful sugar skull-inspired candle is decorated in multicolor floral motifs. She works in paraffin and carefully paints the image by hand. Perfect for décor or display, its waxed wick lets it burn as a functioning candle. Sugar skull or calavera candles are a traditional craft from Guanajuato, Mexico and are typically used as decoration for Dia Los Muertos offerings.

My daughter-in-law is part Latina and she is the one who taught me about sugar skulls and Dia De Los Muertos traditions, so I was sure shed appreciate this lovely candle. It is very well made and its even prettier than the pictures here. The colors are vibrant and just beautiful!

“Wonderful work!”
Very nicely done. Too pretty to actually burn, of course, so I expect him to be around for quite a while.
