Framed against the sun and moon, two Apache tribespeople are featured in this wall sculpture from Mexico. Eufrosia Pantaleon crafts this sculpture from ceramic, given a diligent hand-painted finish for a noble and reverent addition to your home decor.
Eufrosia has confronted adversity and hardship, but has still caused her strength to overcome every obstacle and continues to pursue her ceramic art with NOVICA.
Eufrosia uses traditional techniques taught by elder members of the Nahua community where she was born. The colorful style dates from the 1950s, but the ceramic tradition has its roots in pre-Hispanic times. The artisan passes down her knowledge to her children who will continue creating handicrafts of culturally significance.
This artist is currently supporting and providing for the education of their children, grandchildren, or children in their community, whether it be at the primary, secondary, or university level.
Eufrosia's ceramics have become very popular. Sales with Novica have been so good that she is able to pay three neighbors in her Nahua community to assist her in painting them.
