Hand-Painted Albesia Wood Statuette, "Melodic Gangsa"
The gangsa is a melodic instrument mainly used in traditional Balinese and Javanese music. Anak Agung Ary in Bali hand carves this musician and his gangsa from local albesia wood, hand painting the figure in bright colors with an attractive distressed finish. Please note the musician's mallet is detachable.

"Charming, and richly carved"
I have been several times to Bali, as I lived in that area, and this is a great example of sculpture that you can find with very gifted artisans there. I still enjoy the traditions the pieces evoke, and the fine detail with the carving and the coloration as well. I highly recommend!
