Decorated with vibrant and tonal colors, Gunadi's wall mask depicts Panji Semirang, an Indonesian prince of epic poetry. The Javanese artisan hand carves the mask from wadang wood, using batik, a wax-resist dyeing method, to create colorful patterns. The batik method can take up to 15 different steps to complete the design.
