Ideal for yoga, this bag highlights the versatile artistry of Guatemala textiles. The blue and khaki colored fabric is woven on a traditional handloom by Women of the Yama Aj Chixot Artisan Group. An outer pocket zips closed and another zipper pocket is available inside the bag.

"yoga mat bag"
Perfect! Fits mat well, has small pocket for cash, chapstick. So useful and easy to use, dont have to struggle with getting mat easily to car.

"Beyond Beautiful"
I used this on my very long black dresser. It looks amazing! I bought another one which is similar for a tabletop runner. A beautifully handcrafted piece that I will cherish forever. My room looks so much better with this piece. It gives the room a serene romantic feel.

Preserving Traditions
The association prides itself on protecting and preserving the very long-standing tradition of weaving using a floor loom. The women have all learned this technique from their mothers or grandmothers, and plan to teach their daughters as well.
Confronting Adversity
Unfortunately many women in this area have been affected by miscarriages and the loss of newborns. This can cause a woman to go into a deep depression. Together they overcome these tragic events and provide constant support for one another.

Thanks to the work of these women, their children have the opportunity to study and have a better future. As an association, part of their income is donated to school infrastructure.

The association has been able to grow and increase their sales, which is then passed along to the women and their families.

This association generates employment for more than 125 women.
