Oluwayemisi Adeniran comes from a family of artists, hoping to transmit her culture and beliefs through her work. She crafts this cotton wall hanging by hand in the batik style, using a wax resist to apply the designs before submerging the fabric in vats of dye. According to Ghanaian beliefs, chicken pox outbreaks are associated with the gods' wrath, depicted here against colors of yellow and purple.
