Hand Crafted Talavera Style Ceramic Wall Cross, "Living Cross"
Using Talavera ceramic techniques dating back to the 16th century, Isabelle Collins in Puebla crafts this beautiful wall cross. She uses black and white clay found in the region, which is then cleaned, aged and kneaded to produce the proper consistency. The pieces are then formed and dried slowly before they are fired and glazed. The elegant leaf and vine motifs are rendered in dark brown on off-white.
