This beautifully hand-carved pinewood mask by Jose Canil Ramos of Guatemala is a feat of artistry. Great skill and attention to detail make this mask an intricate piece of art for decoration on any wall. This mask features a quetzal bird, an important figure of Mayan culture.
The artisan says of his inspiration, "This mask is directly related to the customs and traditions of my people. For years and years, they have continued to make these masks to keep the tradition of our Mayan ancestors alive. Nobody uses them anymore, but they are very beautiful decorative pieces."
