Hand Crafted Cedar Wood Jar and Lid from Guatemala, "Delicious Possibilities"

Jorge Luis and Corina are an extremely creative and hardworking couple.

"We met some years ago when we both worked for the same company," they confide. "Our love grew until we decided to marry."

Jorge Luis' father was a well-known artisan in his Guatemalan hometown. "From childhood, I began learning about design and how to visualize and create items in wood," he says. "My father always insisted on the importance of education and training so my brothers and I would become good people and enjoy better opportunities in life."

Corina was born into a very close family with an entrepreneurial spirit. Organized, responsible and creative, she worked in the capital for a number of years.

"Today, we have two sons, and we work together in a workshop we set up. Each of us brings a different strength to our project," she explains. Jorge Luis looks after design and production, while Corina uses her experience in the business world to take care of quality control, inventory and orders. Both collaborate in design, as Corina shares client feedback with Jorge Luis.

Jorge Luis is passionate about their work. "I think inspiration is something we already have in our hearts," he confides. "It comes to life in each design we create. However, I love nature and many times, nature's beauty is what inspires me.

"We've always shared a vision for making our workshop grow and creating innovative items. Of course, we hope to reach more and more shoppers so that we can offer jobs to more people in our community, and help them and their families get ahead."
