Hand Carved Suar Wood Yoga Statuette, "Parvatasana"
Made Tresna's limber carving of a mermaid doing yoga will inspire you to keep working on those hard poses. The Balinese artisan hand carves the mermaid from suar wood in parvatasana, or "mountain pose," as it is commonly known in the West. A polished finish gives the mermaid (and her tail) a subtle luster.

"It is filled with something rather wonderful"
I bought this for a dear friend. I call her a Mermaid, and she loves Yoga. I truly think the craftsman put himself into the figure as he worked. When it arrived I just stared at it, and put it in the sunshine, still beautifully wrapped. Visitors sat and stared too. I sent it on to my friend, who had the same reaction. She said it was as if each layer of wrapping was a prayer. It may sound fanciful but this is a very special Lady.
