Abdul Aziz Mohamadu crafts this decorative stool in the style of Ghana's Ashanti thrones. Hand-carved of sese wood, iti is painted brown with an antiqued finish. On the base, the artisan carves a unique symbol known as Gye Nyame, which means 'except God' in the Akan language. To the Ghanaian people, this symbol represents the supremacy of God.
