Hand Carved Balinese Crocodile Wood Ganesha Mask, "Pale Ganesha"
Ganesha, the son of the god Siwa, is a benevolent and beautiful presence. Hand-carved by Wayan Rendah, the elegant mask portrays the Hindu "remover of obstacles." Ganesha is considered the god of auspiciousness. Many believe that by making an offering to him, they can gain assistance in achieving their dreams. The Balinese artist works in pale crocodile wood, and the tusks cane be detached.
