About this Item
This original mask design from Ghana's Anna Yawson features the adinkra symbol for gye nyame, or "fear none but God". The artisan carves the mask by hand from sese wood and paints it in black and magenta with carved accents. Adinkra symbols, originally created by the Akan peoples of Ghana, are visual icons that represent a concept or proverb.

“Great for a cat lover!”
I purchased a small wood decorative jar Playful Kitten by artist Anna Yawson. I would highly recommend this piece as a gift for any cat lover on your list. It is nice little size, perfect on the shelf. I really enjoy the painted colours.

“Tall, Beautiful Woman!”
I purchased the wood sculpture African Woman Loves Life from artist Anna Yawson. A tall, beautifully carved figure. So interesting with metal inlay. Very talented artist! Thank you.

“Brings a smile”
I purchased the carved wood figurine Asevi by artist Anna Yawson. I just love this cat statue on my mantle-it brings me a smile. I have purchased a few of the carved items from this artist, they are always beautiful, always quality-a very talented artist. Thank you.
