Details

Handcrafted from glass, this Brazilian sculpture is eye-catching and contemplative. Clear in color, it features yellow pigmentation for an abstract design by the Molinari Family, who carry on the glass blowing traditions of Italy's Murano Island. For the artisans, this sculpture is representative of Mary from Christian traditions, named "Our Lady".

"Shouldn t have waited so long to buy…"

I don t normally leave reviews but have to make an exception in this case. This is a beautiful piece, substantial and well made. Nice to see there are still places where craftsmanship matters. I ve wanted to buy this for YEARS but worried my kids were too small to have a gorgeous piece of glass around. I needn t have worried, I wished I d bought it sooner.

"Stunningly beautiful and substantial (not flimsy)."

I would post a picture but it looks exactly like the picture on Novicas site. It is exceptionally beautiful.

"The colors are substantially lighter & creamier with 1 swirls. It is 18 wide note 13.5!"

First, I want to say, it is huge. It is not 13.5 wide - it is 18 wide. I wanted one that looked like the picture -with the medium to dark amber color and the swirls in the middle. The one they sent is a very light creamy amber, not the see through amber I expected. It is pretty but too large for my table and wanted it to be close in amber color of the vase I also ordered through Novica.

"Beautiful!"

This is a work of art - it is heavier than I thought it would be; placed in a window with sunlight coming through the two-toned colors creates a perpetual inspiration.

Preserving Traditions

Preserving Traditions

Antonio Carlos and his brother, Paulo Molinari, learned the ancient hand-blown glass technique as apprentices of the Italian master, Aldo Bonora, who came to Brazil from Murano Island. After eight years, they opened their own workshop in 1962. Considered among the most brilliant and talented hand-blown glass makers in the country, they have trained a number of glass artisans and have formed masters that have worked with them for more than 30 years.
