Gold plated bracelet, "Rain Frogs"
Twin tree frogs grace a delightful bracelet by Albert Ickenroth. He crafts the fanciful figures in lustrous sterling silver bathed in 22k gold. Showcased on a cord of dark caucho (rubber), they are an enchanting reminder of Mexico.
Among the ancient Maya, frogs were harbingers of rain. When offerings were made to the rain god, four small boys were tied to each corner of the altar. Their job was to chirp like frogs to call the life-giving showers.
