Gold & Silver Traditional Thai Art Painting on Red, "Ying Yang Bodhi"

Enclosed in a circle, bodhi leaves in silver and gold create the symbols for yin and yang. The tree itself is a variety of fig that grows in India. Buddha achieved enlightenment while meditating beneath such a tree, which became known as a bodhi, or "enlightened" tree. Saisunee adds a dappled red background for beauty and contrast.
