"I draw inspiration from nature and my culture as a person from the Ga tribe, and as a Ghanaian. I am a twin, and in my tribe twins are seen as blessings from God and held in high esteem."
"I am a versatile and talented artist specializing in painting, fashion designing and handcrafted souvenirs among other things. I started off as a painter but over the years I explored other art fields. My passion is to create new things.
"I come from a family of artists in different fields, such as acting, photography and painting. Being artistic comes naturally to me ever since I was a young boy and I love it. I studied at the Ghanatta College of Art and Design, though I really had a hard time completing my studies due to financial constraints. So, I created hand crafted souvenirs and painted to raise funds to support myself. After two years of art school, I set up a studio at home and have been creating beautiful pieces with different medium to create my art, such as wood, fabrics, paper and metal.

We play important roles in some festivities such as the Homowo Festival. This is an agricultural festival which hoots at hunger in commemoration of a great famine suffered by our ancestors. The festival occurs over a period of time from the rainy season in May until the harvest in August. The celebration is one of abundance: in food, fertility, relationships, and kindness.
"On the days of celebration, thousands of people gather in the city. On a special day referred to as Thursday People, we gather in the streets with freshly harvested food. This is a time for new relationships, music, dance, food, and especially a time for meeting and catching up. At daybreak on Friday, a memorial service is held for those who died during the previous year. Often crying is heard at such volume that it is described as sounding like thunder. Later that day, there is a birthday celebration for all of the twins. Coming from a very traditional family, I have been part of these festivities and celebration many times.
"My friends describe me as a friendly and fun person to hang out with. I am described as talkative sometimes, although I see myself as a laid back person. On one occasion I went to town to buy some materials for my work and there was a beautiful piece of cloth, very colorful. I started negotiating on the price. I think I was being as talkative as usual, when a beautiful lady came from behind me and picked it up and paid for it without negotiating the price. I thought it was very funny.
"I sell my products at bazaars, exhibitions and through friends. Great finishing is what I strive for. The youth in my community have the chance to learn from me and that has prevented them from joining delinquent groups.
"I hope to set up an art gallery of my own. I would also like to set up a training school to teach disadvantaged kids in my community."
