For the indigenous people in pre-Hispanic times, jade, known as ya'ax chich, represented life, fertility, and power. Guatemalan artisan Zandra Lorena Sajbin works with this ancestral stone, which showcases natural hues of black. She hand-carves the pendant of this necklace to feature a ring with faceted edges that gleam in the light. This necklace circles the neck with an adjustable strand of black cotton cord.

This ring is so thick and heavy and luxurious! I absolutely love that its dark jade and I always get compliments on it. Its actually so heavy that I cant wear it for long periods (whoops) but it doesnt matter - its a statement ring! Cutting jade in a gemstone cut was genius and I would love to see more of this style!
