Ebony wood comes through in all its glory as the centerpiece of this pendant necklace from Ghanaian Ila Suleyman. A thin brass inlay design embellishes the teardrop-shaped wood's dark backdrop. The necklace is crafted from two sets of seven strands of violet leather, knotted together at the base to secure the strands to the pendant, closing with a button clasp in the back. The name Zacksongo comes from the Mamprusi word meaning "good home."
The colors and design harmonize so well. I plan to buy another from this region. The textures and small details make me admire it anew, each time I reach for it.
