Details

Salihu Ibrahim in Ghana presents this fascinating decorative broom, inspired by those used by the Guro peoples of the Ivory Coast as flyswatters. The sese wood handle is whimsically hand-carved to resemble a bird, right down to his beak and crest. Palm leaf petioles or stems are then secured to the handle using black cotton cloth. The broom features a loop for hanging on the wall if desired.
