Details
A group of Indonesian men gather together, seated around small bird-shaped basins, in which they wash keris, or sacred daggers. Known as Jamasan Pusaka, this Javanese tradition preserves ancient and spiritual goods, and is performed during the eve of the new year. Kusbudiyanto presents a scene that is rich in culture and history, working with beautiful, vibrant colors in this folk art painting.
