Modern and graceful, this jacket reveals Luisa Villavicencio's design savvy. The long, wide lapels extend below the cardigan styling to wrap like a shawl or cross and tie in the back. The possibilities are many for a number of looks. The trendy jacket is knitted of unbleached cotton in soft ivory. "My family cultivates cotton in several natural colors – jade, ixcaco (cocoa) and ivory, or crude cotton," the Guatemalan designer says. "In fact, people are surprised to learn that no dyes are used. My family is involved in the entire process, from growing the cotton, to weaving it and transforming it into apparel."
Luisa Villavicencio?s cardigan jacket combines two of my favorite things into one- a sweater and a blanket. This jacket looks like a sweater from the back, with the bottom of the sweater coming to my hips. The front of this jacket has long sleeves like a traditional sweater. The open cardigan style front of the jacket has fabric that cascades down to my knees. By using that extra fabric, you can wrap yourself up like a blanket, toss one side over your shoulder like a scarf, or leave both sides hanging down for stylish appeal. Thank you, Luisa Villavicencio, for my amazing wrap jacket!
